Recently, Noodle Box, largest franchised noodle restaurant chain in Australia, was facing numerous challenges in imparting quality training to their employees. Noodle Box has over 340 staffs working at more than 70 outlets, across the country. With a comprehensive menu of over 20 meal options, educating a large number of employees on selecting the correct meal ingredients in a prompt fashion was a tough row to hoe. To overcome this challenge, Noodle Box was on a quest for a groundbreaking e-learning platform that can empower their employees with customized trainings. Their in-depth search for e-learning solution providers came to an end with Olive.

Olive aces the digital arena, with its powerful, easy to use learning applications that allow businesses to train and develop staff with a rewarding, engaging experience. As an answer to the challenge faced by Noodle Box, Olive decided to offer a gamified suite of online training materials for restaurant staffs. As a part of their solution, Olive developed Build-a-Box, a custom gamified suite specifically for Noodle Box that assists employees in learning how to correctly and efficiently select the right combinations of fresh ingredients, sauces, implements and cooking times.

Olive’s Build-a-Box transformed the complex training process of team members and franchise partners into a fun activity. It now has over 500 staff members actively competing against each other to be the best Noodle Box chef. This success story is just one of the many challenges that Olive help businesses overcome.

Typically businesses continue to focus on delivering text-heavy presentations for employee training that provide little engagement and can be difficult to follow for staff from overseas

Typically, in the current market businesses continue to focus on delivering text-heavy presentations for employee training that provide little engagement and can be difficult for staff to follow from overseas. Having been in the trenches of managing and training people in the oil and gas sector, Brendan Kavanagh, CEO of Olive has witnessed gap between traditional employee training and practical implementation of the same. In these hazardous work environments he felt there was a better way to ensure the organisation was safe and that staff were engaged. This experience proved to be a catalyst for Kavanagh to lay the cornerstone for Olive Learning. With help from the company’s award-winning interactive gaming department specialized in creating highly engaging games to meet learning objectives and easy to use, integrated set of learning applications, clients can induct, train, and prepare a knowledgeable workforce by delivering learning experiences that are relevant, engaging, and rewarding.

Along with e-learning services, Olive also uses gamification to engage learners to meet learning objectives. Gamified learning materials engage learners and motivate them as they aim to reach a defined goal. It also allows learners to see the real world actions and benefits of the theoretical subject matter. The gamification solution enables learners to get immediate feedback on their performances and first-hand look at how their performances within the game align with the learning objective. In addition, Olive’s gamification platform offers performance analytics through real-time cause and effect.

Olive’s client list includes hundreds of SME’s as well as global brands. Famous names like Pepsico, Tesco, Mercury Engineering, BAM, Murphy Pipe and Civil, Digicel, Aramark, Qatar Gas, The Coffee Club, and Lidl are already using Olive’s gamified e-learning solution. Recently, Olive has launched a new range of services including android training apps and more than 100 accredited “ready-to-go” courses. To add to its existing solution portfolio, Olive is now looking into emerging immersive solutions utilizing technologies such as Oculus Rift. Currently, equipped with their gamified e-learning solution and having presence in countries like the UK, Ireland, Australia, USA, Dubai, India, and Nepal, Olive is perfectly positioned to cater to a large number of industries around the globe.
